Object flexibility: No code

New record types are created directly through the system’s own administrative interface, or through a single one-shot action, with no code to write and no build or deployment step. An administrator without a development background can define a new entity, with its own fields and relationships, and put it into use without vendor involvement.

This is standard on large business platforms, where custom object creation is core configuration, and also appears in nonprofit-specific products that expose their data model to administrators. These are the most straightforward systems to adapt as an organisation’s work changes.
