Vtiger

Organisation & background

Vtiger was founded in 2004 as an open-source CRM project, historically dual-headquartered in San Francisco and Bangalore. It has a very large worldwide customer base, though it’s a general business CRM rather than nonprofit-specific.

Functionality

Vtiger is a general-purpose CRM offered to nonprofits worldwide via a flat discount rather than a dedicated product, expecting an organisation to configure the general CRM/Projects modules itself. Standard modules (Leads, Contacts, Organizations, Opportunities, Projects, Help Desk, Inventory) support creatable custom fields and custom modules, plus a Connections feature for defining relationships between records. A separate, open-source, self-hostable Community Edition sits alongside the commercial ‘Vtiger One’ cloud line, which layers on Calculus AI (email-sentiment analysis, deal-closure prediction, best-contact-time recommendations) not present in the open-source edition.

Localised features

A nonprofit discount off standard billing rates exists, but it’s a global offer rather than Poland-specific. The Polish-language material found is general business-CRM localisation and reseller marketing rather than nonprofit-specific content.

Implementation model

Self-service: the One Pilot edition and the self-hostable Community Edition let organisations start configuring the system without vendor involvement.

Hosting

You can choose: use Vtiger’s cloud (SaaS) version, or self-host it on your own servers. The free Community Edition can be self-hosted at no licence cost.
