Organisation & background
Advanced Solutions International, ASI, was founded in 1991 in Virginia, US, has offices in the UK, Canada and Australia, and is backed by Brookside Equity Partners. Some iMIS automation tools come from ASI’s 2025 acquisition of CSI, Inc.’s product suite.
Functionality
iMIS is membership and association-management software from Advanced Solutions International, marketed as an engagement management system for associations, unions and nonprofits. It covers membership renewals, membership types and local chapters, fundraising with pledges and moves management, events, an online shop and advertising sales. Its data model is based on contacts and configurable business objects. A query builder lets non-technical staff create reports without SQL, the iMIS Power Suite automates bulk imports, scheduled updates and workflows, and a built-in website and member portal complete it.
Localised features
A UK Gift Aid module is built into fundraising, with membership rules for Australia’s Northern Territory and Western Australia. Direct-debit setup covers the UK, US ACH, Australian and New Zealand BECS, and EU SEPA, with GST/HST, VAT and US tax handling.
Implementation model
Delivered by ASI directly or through more than 100 partners; CSI, Inc. is a long-standing implementation specialist and has been a services-only consultancy since selling its products to ASI.
Hosting
Cloud-hosted by the vendor: EMS cloud product is the actively-developed current generation; a legacy on-premise iMIS 2017 generation remains in active, vendor-supported use with no stated retirement date.
