Country: France

Civil society in France organises itself through the association, a central legal form for public life. French software tends to bundle fundraising, membership and events together from the start, since a single association typically runs all three at once.

A donor claiming a tax deduction needs a fiscal receipt in the CERFA format, France’s standard government form-numbering system. Generating that receipt automatically is a standard feature. SEPA direct debit is also close to a default.

The Compte d’Engagement Citoyen converts a volunteer’s logged hours into training-rights credits they can draw on later. It is a civic-rights account, not a loyalty scheme. Declaring those hours into the government’s own system remains a manual step, even where a product logs them automatically.

AssoConnect, Pep’s Up and Youday CRM are domestic products. eBrigade and BenevolOps cover frontline volunteer coordination.

France has a strong open-source presence, with Paheko, Galette and Dolibarr all in regular use.
