Paheko

Organisation & background

Paheko is open-source (AGPL v3) software, formerly called Garradin, developed since 2012 by BohwaZ. Its publisher has been incorporated as its own French association since December 2023. It has a large install base among French associations.

Functionality

Paheko is free, open-source association-management software covering membership, accounting to French nonprofit standards, documents and a public website builder. It handles dues reminders, member cards, geographic reporting and tax receipts, with double-entry accounting on the French association chart of accounts and an advanced mode for treasurers. Documents can be shared through NextCloud, ownCloud or Collabora, and extensions add expense reports, bookings, equipment management, a till with member credit, and HelloAsso integration. Custom fields and custom modules can be built in the product, and SQL queries, an API and bank-statement import are available.

Localised features

A dedicated Reçus fiscaux extension generates French tax-deductible donation receipts. A HelloAsso extension imports transactions collected via HelloAsso, a popular French donation platform. The Caisse extension adds product-weight tracking for France’s Extended Producer Responsibility rules, which require reporting on products placed on the market for recycling purposes.

Implementation model

You can self-host and set it up yourself, or use a third-party partner. Self-hosting requires technical competency.

Hosting

You can choose: vendor-hosted (SaaS) or self-hosted. A pay-what-you-want hosted service run by the project itself, self-hosting, or independent third-party providers; also distributed via the Zourit suite.
