Organisation & background
Access Charity CRM has served UK charities since the mid-1990s, originally as thankQ/ESiT. It was acquired by Access Group in 2012, renamed, and is part of the Access Workspace for Charities suite, with a large customer base mainly in the UK and some history in Australia and Ireland.
Functionality
Access Charity CRM is a broad fundraising and membership CRM spanning donor management, events, volunteering and grant awarding, with eight connected functional areas including Gift Aid processing, Campaign Management and Professional Fundraising (trusts, grants, legacies). A Fundraising Hub gives wider staff licence-free read access to donor data, a Calling App runs telephone-fundraising campaigns with live in-call updates to supporter details and consent changes, and trained users can add fields and whole new data tabs without vendor development. A Grant Awards module supports organisations that award, not just receive, grants, and a merchandise/EPOS capability serves front-of-house charities.
Localised features
Integrated Gift Aid processing and claim submission to HMRC, the UK’s tax authority. Grant Awards is built for UK grant-making trusts and foundations, with data stored and processed in the UK, as stated in its G-Cloud 14 listing.
Implementation model
Delivered directly by the vendor’s own team. Proprietary ‘FlightPath’ methodology. Historically (as thankQ, pre-Access acquisition), thankQ USA was named the sole authorised reseller/partner for the US market (2017 press release).
Hosting
Cloud-hosted by the vendor, on Access’s own UK platform.
