Country: Denmark

Danish civil society is organised through the forening, the standard voluntary association behind everything from a local sports club to a national charity. It is funded mainly through membership.

Membership administration is the core function of Danish software. Fundraising features are secondary or absent.

Denmark’s folkeoplysningsloven channels public subsidy for non-formal education and voluntary activity through local municipalities. Where a municipality holds an agreement with a vendor, the software becomes free to associations covered by it, since the subsidy pays for it.

MobilePay and Betalingsservice, the Danish direct-debit scheme, are close to universal integrations.

Conventus and MinForening are domestic products covering membership, sometimes combined with events or case management.
