Organisation & background
Dhwani Rural Information Systems Pvt. Ltd., based in India, was founded in 2012. It reports reaching a very large number of end users, with a major-client roster including Godrej, Mahindra, Amazon India, HUL Foundation, and OneStage.
Functionality
Dhwani RIS is a linked pair of tools for India’s development sector: mGrant, a web-based grant and CSR/donor-project management platform, and mForm, a no-code field data-collection and monitoring tool, both built on the open-source Frappe framework, alongside a third, less-documented product, mLearn, for field-staff training. mGrant handles the grant lifecycle (reviewing NGO proposals, tracking progress, and reporting to donors) while mForm supports baseline, midline and impact assessments through an offline-capable survey builder.
Localised features
Supports Indian CSR requirements, including reporting for the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, CSR-partner and logframe tracking, and mLearn, a field-staff training system. The mobile SDK uses the MIT open-source licence and the server-side control app AGPL-3.0.
Implementation model
Delivered directly by the vendor’s own team: Both the SaaS/licence and client-ownership commercial paths, and mLearn, are delivered as a customised build by Dhwani RIS’s own implementation team.
Hosting
You can choose: vendor-hosted (SaaS) or self-hosted. SaaS/licence model on Dhwani RIS-hosted infrastructure, or client-ownership model where the client hosts on their own server and retains the codebase/IP.
