Volaby was originally built by Orange Sky Australia for its own volunteer operations, before spinning out independently in 2021, based in Melbourne. Google is stated to have backed the technology’s wider availability. It was previously branded ‘Campfire’.
Functionality
Volaby is a volunteer-management platform for Australian organisations. It covers recruitment, custom sign-up profiles, self-built onboarding and screening workflows, rostering with automated notifications before and after events, compliance tracking and impact data. Volunteers register themselves and use a mobile app to check in and out of shifts with a single tap.
Localised features
The Volaby mobile app natively tracks Working with Children Check status per volunteer, showing expiry countdowns directly in-app with reminders. An Australia-specific compliance-check integration.
Implementation model
Self-service, starting from a 30-day trial, with live chat support.
Hosting
Cloud-hosted by the vendor, with data hosted and backed up exclusively in Australia.
