Organisation & background
Pino was built by Vaiste Productions Oy and founder Kristian Polso in Finland, after the founders’ own association found Excel-based member management inadequate. One named customer is Urbanlan ry.
Functionality
Pino is an open-source, Drupal-based member-register application aimed at small membership associations (yhdistys) comfortable with (or willing to pay a developer for) technical customisation, rather than a polished commercial product. It supports member-record creation, deletion and update with version history, self-defined custom fields (contact details, join dates, payment information), bulk board/membership email, and a document archive for meeting minutes. No billing or invoicing feature is included.
Implementation model
A self-service option with a 30-day trial, or a self-installed GPLv2 version where the organisation handles its own updates and backups.
Hosting
Vendor-hosted, or self-hosted on infrastructure of the customer’s choosing.
