Organisation & background
base4IT GmbH, based in Unterschälßheim, Germany, is led by managing director Reiner Prummer, with over 20 years developing software for the foundation sector, delivered as a modular ‘Bausteinsystem’ (building-block system) with base4IT’s own German data centre.
Functionality
Non-Profit-Manager is relationship-management software from base4IT for foundations (Stiftung) of many kinds, from grant-making and operating foundations to trust foundations and founder communities, as well as cultural institutions and fundraising organisations. Links between contacts, households and organisations are recorded and searchable, with duplicate management, and board and committee meetings, including written resolutions, are managed in the same records. Bank synchronisation captures incoming donations automatically. A finance module has separate sub-ledgers for securities and for grants and donations, suited to foundations managing both investments and grant programmes, and several foundations can be run from one account.
Localised features
Built for German Stiftungen, with “revisionssicher und GoB Testat inklusive,” meaning audit-proof bookkeeping with a proper-bookkeeping attestation under German rules. A Bank Sync feature posts incoming bank-transfer donations automatically, and Spendenbescheinigungen, donation receipts, are sent by post or email. It can run in base4IT’s German cloud and locally in the organisation’s own IT environment, and includes a module for Stiftergemeinschaften, foundation communities.
Implementation model
Delivered directly by the vendor’s own team: A support hotline with named personal contacts for foundation customers.
Hosting
You can choose: vendor-hosted (SaaS) or self-hosted. Simultaneous use of base4IT’s own German cloud and a local IT environment claimed.
