Organisation & background
Optigem GmbH, based in Dortmund, Germany, was founded in 1993 by Mathias Krallmann for a Freikirche’s (free church’s) own administrative needs. It has a large customer base across Christian and charitable-sector organisations, with a small specialist team.
Functionality
OPTIGEM is German administration software whose core, Win-Finanz, is a Windows desktop application for bookkeeping, donations, addresses and projects, sold in cumulative packages. Donation accounting and fundraising sit alongside contact management, and optional modules extend to fixed-asset accounting, sponsorship administration and guest-house booking for churches and retreat centres that run one. Two cloud companions work with the desktop data: OPTIGEM CX adds receipt approval by three roles and a real-time financial dashboard, and OPTIGEM Web gives remote staff permission-based browser access to contacts, donation history and projects, syncing back to Win-Finanz.
Localised features
GoBD-compliant bookkeeping with external Wirtschaftsprüfer, auditor, certification, a GDPdU tax-audit export module, ELSTER-integrated VAT pre-filing, and Deutsche Post PremiumAdress address validation.
Implementation model
Self-service: the desktop software is downloaded and installed, with offline updates, and an optional managed-hosting partner, Stricker IT.
Hosting
Windows desktop software, optionally hosted on a terminal server by Stricker IT; the CX and Web companions are cloud-hosted.
