Conventus

Organisation & background

Conventus A/S, based in Herning, Denmark, has a large customer base of associations and is often provided through Danish municipalities rather than bought by each association.

Functionality

Conventus is a Danish administrative and booking platform linking voluntary associations, mostly sports and leisure clubs, with the municipalities that fund them and the facilities they use. It offers a shared calendar and meeting scheduling, self-service member registration, member-count reporting to the municipality for subsidy calculation, and room and facility booking, which municipalities often require. Document archiving and bulk email and SMS support communication, and a simplified accounting module serves volunteer treasurers, with an integration to e-conomic for organisations that need more.

Localised features

Municipal agreements, kommuneaftaler, give associations in participating municipalities access linked to Denmark’s folkeoplysningsloven subsidy system for non-formal education and voluntary activity. Payments run through Nets Betalingsservice, Danish direct debit, and card payments.

Implementation model

Self-service: organisations register online, and many municipalities provide Conventus to local associations and link to its video and manual guides. The consultancy SJ-Hjælp runs basic training courses under agreements with individual municipalities.

Hosting

Cloud-hosted by the vendor. An online administration and booking system.
