Fluxx

Organisation & background

Fluxx was founded around 2010 in San Francisco by Kerrin Mitchell and Jason Ricci. It’s backed by Metamorph Partners and ABS Capital Partners, with a funding round reported in 2025.

Functionality

Fluxx is grants management software (Grantmaker for funders, Grantseeker for grantseeking organisations) built around configurable ‘cards’ (Application, Organization, Grant) and button-driven workflow states. It ships with no default configuration. Every organisation’s forms, workflows and data structure are built from scratch during implementation, though day-to-day admin configuration is self-service thereafter. Multi-currency support includes a nightly foreign-exchange-rate integration, letting an organisation track grants in local currencies while reporting in a base currency.

Localised features

Built around US federal grants compliance: automates 2 CFR 200, part of the US Code of Federal Regulations, covering the Office of Management and Budget’s Uniform Guidance requirements, including non-compliance flagging and reporting support for government and foundation funders.

Implementation model

Delivered by a third-party partner. An initial build phase via Fluxx’s implementation team and/or certified consulting partners, with self-service available afterward for an organisation’s own trained admins doing ongoing configuration.

Hosting

Cloud-hosted by the vendor: A dedicated Accessibility page exists on the vendor’s site.
