Organisation & background
Tithe.ly began as founder Dean Sweetman’s church-giving app, launched with Frank Barry and Steve Klein around 2013-14. It acquired Breeze in 2021 and in 2025 merged it with giving, apps and websites into a single product under one Tithely login; Breeze is no longer sold separately.
Functionality
Tithe.ly is a church platform that combines digital giving with church management, websites and custom church apps under one login. Giving covers an online giving form, recurring gifts, text-to-give, pledge campaigns, batch entry for cash and cheques, cheque scanning, tap-to-give discs and kiosks, and year-end statements, with bank deposits reconciled against transactions. Stock and cryptocurrency gifts are accepted through Engiven. The people database uses tags and groups, including group-restricted event check-in, and ready-made automations follow up with new attenders and givers. Text and email messaging, events, forms and a SongSelect integration for worship music are included.
Localised features
Explicitly built to meet charitable-receipt compliance standards in three countries at once: the IRS, the US tax authority, CRA, Canada’s tax authority, and ATO, Australia’s tax authority, with country-specific automated year-end giving statements rather than a single US-only format.
Implementation model
Self-service with no contract, and help importing data for organisations moving from another system.
Hosting
Cloud-hosted by the vendor.
