Syncable

Organisation & background

STYZ Inc., based in Tokyo, was founded in 2016 and launched Syncable soon after. A large number of organisations are registered, and the platform is supported by STYZ’s other business lines.

Functionality

Syncable is a fundraising and peer-to-peer giving platform for Japanese nonprofits, built around a standing organisation page plus opt-in, time-bound campaigns for crowdfunding, birthday donations or monthly giving. Supporters, not just staff, can fundraise on an organisation’s behalf, and recurring and annual-fee givers are tracked as their own lists. Custom fields extend the giving form, a fee-covering option lets donors absorb the platform’s transaction fee themselves, and card, bank-transfer and Amazon Pay payments are accepted, with 3D Secure 2.0 card authentication. Payouts are requested manually rather than paid out automatically. There’s no native Salesforce sync; CSV export and import is manual.

Localised features

Open to a broad roster of Japanese nonprofit legal forms, subject to KYC-style review and, for some entity types, articles-of-incorporation verification. It adopted 3D Secure 2.0 card authentication ahead of Japan’s March 2025 mandate.

Implementation model

Self-service: Organisation self-registers and self-manages after a mandatory KYC-style review.

Hosting

Cloud-hosted by the vendor.
