Sporty.co.nz, part of the Sportsground.com group, has operated since 2008 and made its core membership CRM free for all NZ sports clubs from late 2021. Sportsground is ultimately owned by the Toronto-listed Constellation Software Inc. A materially larger corporate backer than a small-NZ-vendor framing might suggest.
Functionality
Sporty – SuperCRM Member Manager is the membership and CRM component of Sporty, a New Zealand sports-administration platform, free to clubs, that also covers websites, forms, payments, live scoring and a mobile app under one login. It models national, regional, centre, club and school levels as a hierarchy, with unlimited tags for further groupings. Each person has a lifetime ID with duplicate matching across seasons and clubs, and views can be filtered by season, role or ethnicity for sector reporting. Members renew through an emailed link instead of a password, and web-form submissions create or update records, with payment status shown.
Localised features
Supports New Zealand payment partnerships, Stripe, POLi and VostroPay for cards, plus Debitsuccess for direct debit, with Xero and MYOB accounting reconciliation. It became the mandatory national system for all NZ football clubs from January 2026, replacing COMET and third-party tools.
Implementation model
Self-service: A club submits a request form and is set up directly by Sporty’s team; national/regional bodies are onboarded top-down with affiliated clubs brought in beneath them.
Hosting
Cloud-hosted by the vendor, described by the vendor as “fully cloud based”.
