WildApricot

Organisation & background

WildApricot was founded in Toronto in 2006 by Dmitry Buterin. Personify acquired it in 2017, and it has been owned by Momentive Software, backed by TA Associates, since 2026.

Functionality

WildApricot is an all-in-one membership platform for associations, nonprofits, chambers, clubs, charities and multi-chapter organisations that want one system they can set up and run themselves. It combines a contact and membership database with custom fields and automated renewals, a website builder with themes and drag-and-drop templates, event registration and ticketing, online donations, an online store and email communications. Payments run through WildApricot’s own processor or PayPal, Stripe or Authorize.Net, and separate mobile apps serve administrators and members managing their own membership.

Localised features

Each account works in a single currency. WildApricot’s own payment processor serves US and Canadian organisations in US or Canadian dollars, and other organisations use PayPal, Stripe or Authorize.Net.

Implementation model

Self-service, explicitly marketed as self-service software. WildApricot’s own onboarding coaches support standard setup at no extra cost. An optional partner directory is also available, for design, migration, or advanced website-customisation work.

Hosting

Cloud-hosted by the vendor.
