Nanumshem

Organisation & background

Nanumshem was built by NGO-ware Co., Ltd. with Woori Bank and launched in 2005. Its founder, Choi Ho-yun, a practising accountant, built it after meeting nonprofits unable to raise funds because of inadequate accounting systems. Business registries list the operator as Nanum-gwa-Sem Co., Ltd. in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Functionality

Nanumshem is a Korean nonprofit ERP that links donor and sponsorship, beneficiary, volunteer, event, accounting, HR, tax and CMS direct-debit data, so one entry updates every module. Pledges are tracked by programme with vouchers and journals generated automatically, and staged counselling and case records support case assignment for individuals and organisations. Payroll covers withholding, resident and social-insurance calculations, double-entry accounting handles budget control and consolidated closing across branches, and the system generates filing data for VAT, withholding, inheritance and gift, and corporate tax.

Localised features

Automatically generates VAT, withholding-tax, inheritance/gift-tax and nonprofit corporate-tax filing data. Handles per-donor NTS, Korea’s National Tax Service, donation-receipt issuance and receipt-register management, with Woori Bank-partnered CMS automatic-debit collection and consolidated multi-branch closing for federated Korean organisations.

Implementation model

Delivered directly by the vendor, with onboarding bundled into the vendor’s own sector-consultation support, plus a separate financial-network sign-up step.

Hosting

Runs as a browser-based program hosted by the vendor.
