Organisation & background
Church Community Builder was founded in 1999 in Colorado Springs by Chris Fowler and grew to a large base of US churches. Pushpay acquired it in 2019, and it is sold as Pushpay ChMS alongside Pushpay Giving and Pushpay Apps.
Functionality
Church Community Builder, sold under the name Pushpay ChMS, is a church management system whose people database holds individual profiles, households, custom fields, volunteer roles and staff notes. Process queues are configurable follow-up workflows, such as staged contact with a first-time guest, with each step assigned to staff or volunteers and progress tracked for each person; they can also add people to groups when places open. Groups have main and assistant leaders, with department admins overseeing several groups, and the system also covers volunteer scheduling and check-in. It is used alongside Pushpay’s giving and custom church app products.
