Bloc

Organisation & background

Bloc AS, based in Norway, originally traded as IdrettenOnline for sports clubs, a brand used since at least the mid-2010s, and is marketed more broadly as Bloc. Its clubs have several hundred thousand members in total.

Functionality

Bloc, marketed to sports clubs as IdrettenOnline, is an all-in-one club and association platform combining a drag-and-drop website builder, membership register, payments, accounting, booking and messaging in one product. Members, supporting members, households, guardians, groups and roles sit in one register with self-service profile updates. A full accounting module, sharing its database with membership and payment data, covers invoicing, expense claims, vouchers, budgeting and reporting without a separate module fee. Resource and pitch booking, e-commerce, event sign-up, and activity-based virtual races and challenges (used for a national cycle-to-work campaign) round out the module set.

Localised features

Two-way synchronised integration with Norway’s central sports database, ISD, approved by the Norwegian Sports Federation, NIF. Payments run through Bucky Payments, a payment institution licensed by Finanstilsynet, Norway’s financial regulator, supporting AvtaleGiro, card, Vipps and e-faktura. The same platform runs Sykle til jobben and Turorientering.

Implementation model

Self-service. A 30-day trial with no sales conversation required, plus an optional paid ‘Fiks ferdig’ turnkey migration package that bundles website-content migration.

Hosting

Cloud-hosted by the vendor.
