Organisation & background
Assemble was originally DutySheet Ltd, based in Surrey, and was acquired by Access Group in 2022 and folded into its Charity Suite as Access Assemble. It’s recommended for charities with 20 or more volunteers, with named users including British Red Cross and RSPCA.
Functionality
Assemble is a volunteer management system covering recruitment, compliance, scheduling and rota. The data model is built around role profiles, teams and permission groups with an enforced build order, and custom fields can be flagged indexable, unique or encrypted. Simple/Full recruitment categories cover training, DBS/vetting and layered consents, with bulk CSV/XLS import across several record types, plus SSO and outbound webhook support.
Localised features
A purpose-built integration syncs volunteer records with Access Charity CRM/Donorfy within the wider Access Charity Suite. DBS, the UK’s background-check agency, and other vetting tracking is built into role profiles.
Implementation model
Delivered by Access’s own Professional Services team. Independent charity-data consultancies (e.g. Productle, listed in Beacon’s partner directory) list Assemble among many platforms they support post-implementation, but this is general third-party consultancy work, not an Access-run partner programme.
Hosting
Cloud-hosted by the vendor; hosting region not stated.
