Organisation & background
Buhl Data Service GmbH, based in Neunkirchen, Siegerland, was founded in 1986 by Martin Buhl, and is best known for its WISO Steuer tax software. It has a large staff base across German and Swiss locations, describing itself as Germany’s largest independent software house.
Functionality
WISO MeinVerein Web is a German cloud association-management and preparatory-accounting platform from Buhl, the successor to its desktop MeinVerein product, for associations of all kinds and larger federations. It keeps dues-paying members separate from other contacts, with self-service member profiles and custom fields such as instruments for a choir or shirt numbers for a sports club. Dues are collected in automated runs, multi-account banking is BaFin-certified, and it is used through a browser and mobile app. A public Vereinsportal lets people find associations and apply to join.
Localised features
SKR42-conformant bookkeeping, the 2025 German association chart-of-accounts standard, with DATEV, a German accounting-data-exchange standard, export. Complies with Germany’s e-invoicing obligation from 2025, and supports online donation collection with receipt issuance via the Vereinsportal.
Implementation model
Self-service: a pure self-registration SaaS product, with a data-processing agreement signed automatically at sign-up. Support is available through a free help centre, phone and email, and webinars. A paid one-on-one training session can also be booked.
Hosting
Cloud-hosted by the vendor, on Buhl Data’s own German servers, with a BaFin-certified banking interface.
