Organisation & background
Codawood BV, a Belgian company based in Wetteren, built Stamhoofd from a volunteer’s own Scouts-group digitisation project. It’s self-funded, with no external financing, and has a substantial, growing user base. A parallel Netherlands edition exists.
Functionality
Stamhoofd is a Belgian platform for associations, youth movements, sports clubs, schools and cultural groups, with modules for membership, ticketing, webshops and donations switched on as needed. Registration groups have periods, age and gender rules, waiting lists and sibling discounts, and means-tested fee reductions integrate with UiTPAS. Several guardians can be linked to a member, and permissions control who sees which data and manages which groups or webshops. Webshops offer flexible fulfilment, ticket sales support seat selection and offline door scanning, and donations, crowdfunding and Belgian tax certificates are included. Its source code is published under the vendor’s own licence.
Localised features
Generates the Belgian fiscal certificate for childcare costs, Attest Kinderopvang, form 281.86, with direct Belcotax submission, retroactive certificate generation, and mutualiteit-oriented, health-insurance-fund, participation and registration proof documents, a strength reflecting its Belgian youth-movement origin.
Implementation model
Self-service, without vendor-run onboarding, advisers or partners.
Hosting
Vendor-hosted, or self-hosted from the source code on GitHub, which needs developer skills; the repository includes self-hosting guidance.
