Little Green Light

Organisation & background

Little Green Light was founded in 2007 by brothers Nick and Chris Bicknell in Seattle. It’s bootstrapped, with no outside venture funding, and remains a small, independently operated company.

Functionality

Little Green Light is a cloud donor management and fundraising CRM for small and mid-sized nonprofits. Constituent records cover households, relationships and memberships, with duplicate merging and layered, saved searches. Gifts and pledges are tracked by campaign, fund and appeal, with soft credits, tribute gifts and configurable email or print acknowledgements. LGL Forms builds online forms with Stripe or PayPal payments that feed straight into constituent and gift records, and can use separate payment accounts for paired charitable and advocacy entities. Mail merge, direct email, scheduled reports with calculated fields, activity and volunteer tracking, and a flexible importer are included.

Localised features

LGL doesn’t offer its service to organisations in the EU, UK or Switzerland. A dedicated Security category names CAN-SPAM Act compliance specifically. LGL Forms supports a second, linked Stripe or PayPal payment account for organisations running a paired 501(c)(3)/501(c)(4) structure that needs to keep donation streams financially separate.

Implementation model

Self-service, with an optional LGL Network of independent consultants for help with data migration, forms and training.

Hosting

Cloud-hosted by the vendor, with two-step verification.
