Organisation & background
Engaging Networks was founded in the UK in 2000 by Graham Covington as Advocacy Online. It’s independently owned, with a Washington DC office alongside its London base, and has a customer base spanning dozens of countries, including named clients Amnesty International and Oxfam.
Functionality
Engaging Networks is a combined fundraising and advocacy platform, designed either to replace an organisation’s advocacy, fundraising, email and events tools or to work alongside those it keeps. Supporter data sits in an Account Data Structure of up to 300 custom fields, and Page Builder is a drag-and-drop editor for multi-step donation, advocacy, event and supporter pages, with advocacy pages letting supporters email, tweet or call their representatives. A Supporter Hub gives supporters a logged-in account to update details, manage opt-ins and change donations. Page chaining carries data between pages, Query Builder handles segmentation, and an API supports website integration.
Localised features
Gift Aid compliance for UK clients runs through a named partner, Giftease Solutions, listed in Engaging Networks’ own partner directory as providing gift aid consultancy and API-level integration, rather than a feature built natively into the core platform.
Implementation model
You can set it up yourself, or use a third-party partner, via an optional Accredited Partner Program rather than a mandatory route.
Hosting
Cloud-hosted by the vendor: Region-specific data centres named for US/Canada.
