Function: Enterprise

Enterprise covers the extra structural capability an organisation needs once it outgrows what a standard nonprofit product can handle. It describes the conditions the work happens under, not a type of work itself.

Common features include running multiple entities or sites with controlled visibility and combined reporting, sending data out to a data warehouse, an API strong enough for two-way links with finance, HR and service systems, automation that runs across systems, and audit trails and permissions to the standard an auditor or regulator expects.

Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics 365 are the reference products, since they offer this natively. What matters is real capability, not the name of a pricing plan. A plan called “Enterprise” doesn’t automatically qualify. Most organisations don’t need any of this.
