CharityTracker

Organisation & background

CharityTracker is developed by Simon Solutions, Inc., based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, created in direct response to charitable-resource-coordination failures after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The same system is also marketed to food banks as Oasis Insight.

Functionality

CharityTracker is a multi-agency case-management platform created after Hurricane Katrina so that independent organisations can share client data and avoid duplicating relief. Its records are clients, cases, households and assistance, with each instance of aid logged against an assistance category. New agencies can ask to join an existing network, with billing handled per agency. Individual cases can be marked private, a workflow handles deceased clients, and data can be exported.

Localised features

Its database is compliant with HIPAA, the US health-data privacy law, and dedicated FAQ entries also address SOC 2 and FERPA, the US student-data privacy law, compliance questions.

Implementation model

Delivered directly by Simon Solutions, whose support team also makes some ongoing configuration changes on request, such as automation triggers, individual permission changes and network-level settings, based on April 2024 evidence.

Hosting

Cloud-hosted by the vendor.
