Casebook

Organisation & background

Casebook was incubated in 2009 as Case Commons under the Annie E. Casey Foundation and moved into the public-benefit corporation Casebook PBC in 2017. It serves a substantial number of organisations.

Functionality

Casebook is a cloud human-services platform, first built for child welfare and extended to wider case management, made up of applications that share one person profile: cb Intake, cb Engage, cb Track, cb Access and cb Reporting. Configuration runs through cb Admin, a no-code layer for dynamic fields and pages, PDF-based forms and event-triggered workflows. Ten predefined roles and custom roles control access at entity, record and field level, and cb Access gives applicants and providers a self-service portal. It connects to other systems through the Casebook API and Zapier.

Localised features

A named VOCA, Victims of Crime Act, reporting template exists within cb Reporting.

Implementation model

Self-service with guidance or vendor-led: the default Casebook Lightspeed path pairs organisations with an onboarding coach, and Custom Implementation Services support large government deployments.

Hosting

Cloud-hosted by the vendor, cloud-native on AWS with built-in redundancy.
